1.31.11

Glenn began the show with the question, which movie has made you cry? This inititated several callers, which then turned into what's your favorite commercials. Anyway, a somewhat goofy show to begin the work week.

It was a fast-paced Friday show today, with discussions about the Space Shuttle tragedy in '86, issues in Africa, and the disturbing nature of 'stoning' someone to death. On a lighter note, Glenn had plenty of fun with 'Noodles' too. Good show.

Not a 'feel good' type of story, but it was a piece of North Country reality when it happened. Glenn read an online interview article regarding a double murder in Evans Mills back in 2009. The article speaks for itself, but Glenn offered some questions about drugs, immaturity, war and marriage at an early age.

Let's cover the mid-week stories, including (3) suspects who were picked up for robbery. Glenn was unsure to why soldiers would want to carry out an armed robbery. Then, last night's 'State of the Union' took over, so Glenn fielded many questions.

Is Glenn going Liberal? Not a chance, but to the Duff and some others, maybe. Anyway, a good conversation with Attorney Joe Stanley and many callers today!

Glenn had some fun today for a Friday show. Listen to why he still thinks Piers Morgan is a joke, plus Glenn's take on the big Mob Bust in the NY area yesterday. Oh, one heck of an Apollo Restaurant imitation too.

Who was Thomas Jefferson? What were his major accomplishments? Well, listen to Glenn's show and find out. While you do, find out how Glenn really feels about the state of talent on TV.

Well, Glenn is back after a day at the dentist. Today, Attorney Eric Swartz came back to the show. Good stuff from start to finish, especially when the 'gun talk' ended. From that, Glenn went on about how bad the new guy is who replaced Larry King. Plus, some thoughts about disciplining kids in school, like the old days.

Glenn shifted things to downtown again, by talking about tearing down the old Woolworth Building. But, that wasn't the only topic today. In fact, Glenn fielded a call from 'Dan the Dem' who spoke with some dudes that met MC Glenn at Fat Boys event on Saturday night. Interesting conversation about our 'so-called host', but Glenn had an explanation.

After 3 days of spirited discussions, Glenn slowed things down today with some assessments. First, the 'Live at Five' audience did a great job this week regarding the Arizona killings, and the conversations reflected that. Today's show was simply a 're-cap' of how we reacted together.

Just days after the horrible shooting incident in Arizona, Glenn fielded one call after another. Then, towrards the end of the show, a man we call 'The Gun Nut', chimed in with his own opinion. Good show about a tough topic.

It's a 'bit of the Irish' today with Sean Hennessey, who will be starting his 4th year as host of AM1240's Echoes of Ireland Show this Sunday! Yet, because Sean is a political figure in town, Glenn had to ask him about the latest state of affairs in Albany and locally.

Every now and then we get a certain call that hits home. Today, was one of those calls. A man by the name JP (?) called in today with his angle on the job market. The call went on for a better part of the show, but because of its 'tone', Glenn went with it. Jim Leven came in afterward with his own input, as did other callers.

Well, it's the first Tuesday show of the year, so it's the first discussion with Attorney Joe Stanley, another good one too. Then it was a little of this, and some of that, good stuff throughout today's show!

It's a new year, but the big surprise so far was the news from Ch. 7 that Rick DeFranco is leaving for 'other' pastures. So, while Glenn brought this up at the outset of today's show, he got a call from...you guessed it, Rick DeFranco! Listen as Glenn asks Rick about his future and his days as weatherman at ch. 7.
