2.25.11

Glenn had fun today, with himself! That is he took few calls today to reflect on other stuff. First, the Square Cam now includes a time lapse feature during bad weather. Then, for sometime on today's show, Glenn spoke about movie icon Blake Edwards and his approach to 'old school' movie making, something Glenn feels is missing in X Generation Hollywood today. Good show.

Today's show, on a scale of 1 to 10, ehh, a 3, I don't know, bad mood, bad conversations and not much happening around town. Anyway, still worth the 'listen'.

When the Live at Five show goes by so fast, you know there's plenty of reasons. When we speak of the state of the economy, in relation to the many unions in America that are sucking us dry, you know you're going to have a fast paced show. Today is no exception. Also, some compelling conversations too about the decorated soldier who got mocked at Columbia University last week.

Whew, Glenn is back after President's Day, and it was like he never left. First, a good conversation with Attorney Joe Stanley about snowmobiles and criminals who get away with nothing but a slap on the hand. Then it was all Wisconsin with 'Buffalo, Danny Francis and the 'Duff'.

'Top of the Morning to Ya', that's a piece of what we had today with the (2) Pattys from the Wtown Irish Festival. Both stopped by to promote their scholarship program, which the Duff dubbed, 'Leprechan Locks'. Glenn had fun with the two ladies and took calls too.

Glenn was solo today and basically went from one topic to another throughout the day. Good stuff, including more insight to the current mayor's race, and an interesting article about 'lonliness in a relationship'.

It was a 'legal hour' again with Attorney Eric Swartz. Good calls too throughout the show, and Glenn had some interesting topics for Eric, including snow on sidewalks, Louie's issue with his real estate closing, and the latest about OJ. Oh, also the issue of too few defense attorneys in Northern NY.

After Glenn discussed the aspect of 'Black Boxes' in cars to monitor driving habits, several callers chimed in with their own opinion. Today's show simply flew by and this author doesn't know why.

Happy V. Day, although today's theme isn't even mentioned throughout today's show. What was on today's show was the Jeff Smith's announcement to run for mayor. Plus, Glenn had some thoughts about the Grammys, the types of police shows on TV and a Watertown Times article about Jeff Smith's political career. Good show.

No intro today, why? Because Glenn got in late! But don't worry the 44 minute show has its moments, including some chat about 'greed', the proposed noise ordiannce rules in Watertown, and Glenn's views about rehashing history in books and movies. See you on Monday!

What are some high profile people thinking? First there's Lindsey Lohan, then there's Charlie Sheen, now another US Congressman from NY is in trouble for half nude pics of himself to Craigslist. This and other stuff made the show today a delight to listen to, at least according to the Crumudgeon. Oh, sad story about Glenn's stepson's bird.

Well, who wants to call in today? That's when our new caller 'Buffalo' chimed in about the local media. From there it was a chat with new grand daddy, 'Duff'. Nothing like a friendly show for 'Hump Day' Wednesday.

It's a Tuesday show with Attorney Joe Stanley, then Samantha, who chimed back to the scene asking Glenn why he's so mean, and then it was the usual bunch of callers. Noodles stepped in with something that appeared important, but wasn't at all.

Sorry, the first 15:23 minutes of today's show had included (2) audio streams at the same time. You just can't hear anything until minute 15:23. But Glenn did cover the big game, the lousy TV spots, and the worst National Anthem rendition since Rosanne Barr.

Glenn was tired, at times silly in the beginning of today's show, but he tried hard to explain his side of the Egyptian crisis. Other than that, it was business as usual today, but Glenn did manage to speak about the 1960 plane crash that killed a local TV reporter.

A somewhat simple show today. First, Glenn had his thougths about SU Basketball, then it was business as usual. Including Glenn's feelings about Cable shows vs. traditional sitcom network shows. Like I said, simple show.

Glenn had some things to say about the media response to the Egyptian crisis. Glenn believes there are too many 'fear mongers' in the world, that thrive on the doom and gloom scenarios. SG stopped by too, to discuss the upcoming 'Music for the Mission' concert in March. Also, Jim Leven stopped in to talk more about Egypt.

After a poor start to today's show, the flustered Glenn Curry actually pulled off a decent show. Attorney Joe Stanley called in, then it was off to the races with our usual callers.
