12.31.8

Well, look who stopped by for the year's last show, Crazy Ray. After the usual 'Guess who's in the studio' nonsense, Glenn went on with an entertaining show. No breaks either, just simple conversations back and forth with Justin, Samantha, Steve and Big Steve Malbauf. Good show to end a challenging year. Let's all hope for a better '09.

Wooo! Bad beginning to today's show! First, Glenn got on late, then stumbled a bit, no, actually a lot at the start, especially when some idiot kept trying to sabotage the show with some stupid sound machine. Anyway, Jim Leven called and made the show quite entertaining after-all. See you all tomorrow, Glenn will have his act together then!

No we didn't have a traditional 'Christmas Show', instead, it was business as usual. That's a ridiculous conversation with Samantha, a long conversation with the 'Duff' regarding the latest Wall Street scandal and some baseball history from Dick Whelan. Oh, some George Baily mixed in througout the show too! Merry Merry Christmas!

Wow, Glenn was on a different highway today, that's the 'Highway to Hell'! Looks like the headlines in '08 really got to our so-called host. Good call from a former regular. The 'Witness Protection' guy called in from Texas to give us a Howard Stern report. Then Glenn went over the 10 most likely companies to liquidate in '09. Plus, a really ugly look at America's most greedy on today's show, including one less person to worry about.

Was 'It's a Wonderful Life' considered a 'dark' movie? Well, if you read the NYT article about the movie, you may just fell that way. Glenn paraphrased an article regarding the darker side of his favorite movie today. From this, several callers chimed in with their own feelings while sharing their own favorite scenes. Then, a surprise call came in from Jersey when Glenn's sister-in-law called in while listening to the stream 'live'. Good show, plus Extrovert had a movie in mind of his own from 1972.

Due to the bad weather, Glenn stayed in Watertown and did a Friday show after all. Glenn talked about some of the bad behavior going on in the area, including someone who put a video camera in his own bathroom. This spurred some talk about the decisions we make in life. Oh, Crazy Ray had a good call about 'Big Bird' and Glenn's mom called concerned about her icy driveway. Have a great weekend!

Plenty to cover from today's show, including an incident on Public Square, a call from Crazy Ray this past Saturday night. Say, our first intercontinental call from SG in Germany happene today too. Plus, Mayor Graham called in about Caroline Kennedy' bid to become US Senator. Then we got a history lesson about the assasination attempt on Hitler in '44. Good show!

Today's show started with a conversation between Glenn and Jim Leven. From there, Glenn explained how the word 'cute' works against you in life. Plus, why is it there's little info about the missing Watertown woman.

There always something to talk about, that' what Glenn says. So, with that in mind, Glenn encouraged callers to call in with whatever they want to discuss. Attorney Joe Stanley talked about the importance of ample insurance coverage on your car and home. From there, Glenn invited Jim Leven into the studio to talk about the state of media and Glenn's sequel script to the movie 'Roadhouse'.

Good show, however, still no word on the missing mother, nor any official word on the loss of Russell Bledsoe. As we continue through the holidays though, it's good to know how the community reacts to trouble on the horizon. Today, Big Apple Bobby Ferris came on the show to share some discussions. 'Zip' man was on fire today about his recent bout with physical problems. Have a great weekend!

Solid show abou some local and national issues, including the remains of a young person in Florida and the missing mother in Watertown. As planned, today's show was dedicated to the late MSG Russell C. Bledsoe, who lost his life on Sunday. Little or no details to how he lost his life, but it was confirmed by his neice. As they say of course, the show must go on, and today's show was full of callers and discussions. Good call with Attorney Joe Stanley as well as good chatter with Danny Francis, Crazy Ray and the 'Duff'. Again, our heart goes out to Russell's family, and the memories of his association to the show, military and community will not be forgotten.

Our so-called host had some allergy issues today, so needless to say, he didn't sound too good being all stuffed up. But, in the end, he managed to present a good afternoon show. First, some talk about the passing of Arthur Shawcross, a notorious serial killer originally from Watertown. Then, it was a debate of whether or not to drop the legal drinking age back to 19 years of age. Oh, more about the two prosititutes who were arrested yesterday in the city.

We're back in the saddle to talk about whatever seems interesting. First, what Glenn found interesting today was: Yankees win, neighborhood blight and why Samantha looks like a 'bag' lady these days. Also, Glenn had a local radio quiz for Victor Victoria and Dan the Dem upset the Gunnut again. Wow, what a surprise.

Do we have too much welfare? This and other interesting topics hit the airwaves today, including Glenn's recent garbage tossing moment from his 3rd floor attic window round up today's show. Oh, a somewhat angry man called in today to challenge the 'Gunnut' to a debate about the economy. Good show!

Good show today, particularly with Attorney Joe Stanley and the 'Duff' regarding the 9 year old little leaguer who was taken from the diamond because he's too good. This and other stories of too much adult involvement on today's show. Glenn had to leave early for a shoot in Central New York.

A naked guy riding a bike, too much sex in Albany and Louie and Otis are getting ripped off! This and a very lively Glenn Curry at the microphone today who believes Michelle Obama will announce her pregnancy during the convention this evening, speculation of course. Oh, SG doens't want to remove bunions for a dog park.

Sorry, way late uploading this very long show. In fact the last 45 minutes is the Mark Levin show. Glenn forgot to shut off his blogger! Anyway, entertaining 'local' stuff today, plus an interesting conversation with Victor about a stupid 'stunt' Froggy 97 did today!

Wow what a show! First, Glenn had some local news about a guy who tried to strangle his live-in girlfriend with a cable chord, then it was off to politics, a love song and Jim Leven on the phone. Good stuff from start to finish including a meeting at an intersection between the 'lovely' Sharon and a 'L@5' listener, plus a mysterious explosion near the park last night. Oh, good call too with a certain 'Mr. P'

It was another good call with our friend Attorney Joe Stanley today, while Victor insisted that Glenn's show was just as good as Anthony DeMarco's show was. Then, as Glenn got into his memory lane trip, he brought up some good movie titles to consider. All this on the same day Glenn scouted for listeners to be in a Joe Stanley TV commercial.

Back and at it again! Glenn had a great time watching the Olympics this weekend, especially the 'celebs' from China who dominated in diving, gymnastics and 'Shuttlecock'. That's right, 'Badmitton'. Samantha called today, that's when Glenn called upon the heavens to bring her father to today's show. Good stuff there, plus a comical call with 'Crazy Ray' regarding Aubertine's disappearance in a photo taken by Samantha.

Should we be wearing hats indoors, this and other social questions were discussed today. Plus Glenn gave us his thoughts of Mad Dog leaving WFAN in NYC. No, not a local story, but an example of one who truly believes they can do it by themselves. Not happening! Good show to end a great week! Also, great call with Samantha too, who told Glenn she did not get on the Mike Savage show recently but did get on the Mike Gallager show a few years ago. Glenn had fun with this!

Look at what started again, the political season! Glenn had candidate for State Senate, Atty. Dave Renzi today. Glenn set up the show with important questions and issues, then let the callers ask some questions of their own. It was one call after another as Dave fielded the easy questions, and the not so easy questions, illustrating once again how 'sesoned' the 'Live at Five' listeners actually are when it comes to government. Glenn will be off tomorrow but back on Friday.

For the 'triple 8' day, Glenn reflected on the movies made back in the 30s, more particularly the movie called 'Grand Hotel' which Glenn saw last night. This spurred serveral callers throughout today's show to either agree or disagree with Glenn's opinion. The lovely 'Sharon' came in at the end to talk about the great wedding photos from her daughter's wedding last Saturday.

Lightning strikes, misinterpretations, and the rest of what was on Glenn's mind today. Glenn hates 'Dora the Explorer' and 'Diego' because they scare him. Then it was a serious conversation with Sirius and his solar panels. Oh, Glenn got the 'lowdown' about chatroom rules too. Plus, Glenn read a letter from a listener who believes Jim Leven is a 'whiner'.

What? Glenn rude at a bar function? The same guy who took a hit to the groin? Come on now. That story and some legal issues today with Attorney Joe Stanley. Again, used legal topics from this past weekend and a national story with Joe. Good conversation with the 'Duff' about Mr. Sub's curb problem. Good show all the way around, especially when a caller chimed in about the guy who sold bad heroin.

Good way to end a short week for our 'so-called host'. Glenn took things in stride today from start to finish. A good Thursday conversation wtih the Duff, Dan the Dem, Crazy Ray and Sam Verback. Terrible story about a man who cut off another man's head in Canada, and plenty of gasoline talk too. See you all on Monday!

A light-hearted show today with our so-called host. Glenn had a good discussion with 'Dan the Dem' about movie legend Cary Grant. Then it was a bit of this and a bit of that. Oh, Johnny Spezzano called while sitting 63 feet about our local SPCA. The 'Gun-Nut' called in too about the state of the state of NY. Good call. What is it with the term 'White Guilt', Glenn had a look at its meaning while equating it to the Obama movement. Good political chatter throughout the first half of today's show. Then it was a little of this and that for a great way to end the week. Oh, yes, Public Square is going to be interesting when it's completed. Why? Welcome back to Glenn's 'piss on my grave' corner'. Hi, this is Glenn Curry, the 'so-called' host of the 'Live at Five' Show. Today, I discovered how well-loved I am on the Jefferson County Jeff Board. Wow! I'm so blessed! Besides from that, it was the normal stuff I just can't remember right now!

High gas prices should mean new innovation. Glenn says, it will take a real leader to put us in the right direction when it comes to new energy alternatives. Glenn believes Hydrogen is the best answer simply because it would be a easier transition for car manufacturers. After that it was back to normal. An extended call with 'Crazy Ray' another call with tough guy Louie, and Glenn got a call from Karen's Cafte in Sackets Harbor. Oh, great night for the Bud Light promotion too last evening, Glenn explains.

It's another show about nothing, but somehow it's still worth listening to. Glenn had a pretty normal show about whatever came to mind, plus the top stories on NJ. Then, Glenn made a pledge not to talk about the 'DP' issue, that's 'Dog Park'. Honestly, Glenn feels many people simply don't want to hear anything more than they need to. Interestingly, Otis, a 'DP' hater, chimed in about the topic anyway.

For 'Hump' day, let's argue about the same topic, that is, why do we continue bringing the dog park thing up when the city and community has so many other details to care care of first. That's how crazy things have gotten. Anyway, the Border's Johnny Spezzano was in to talk about his own SPCA benefit this month and Glenn had a conversation with Frank Freely an Elvis impersonator who's promoting his show this Friday in Clayton.

Glenn of course had his occassional sly comment here and there.

Then it was on to the usual nonsense, first a conversation with 'Celebrtiy' about the 'Red & Black' football team, and then on to the usual suspects about this, that and oh yes, why Glenn is so confused about Jennie Adsit and the other legislator with a similar name.

The guys sat in talking about this week's first game and added to Glenn's comments and behaviors throughout the show. Good articles too from Newzjunky.com including a pact between high school girls who 'wanted' to get pregnant.
