The biggest issue to hit our area was the focus of attention today. No, not another congressional race, it's all to do about 'Wind Power'. Glenn had (3) individuals on the show today to discuss the downside of wind farm developments on the Golden Crescent Communities. Rob Aliasso, John Byrne and Brooks Bragdon were his guests. Good show, and more to come!

We have an invitation. That's an invitation for all (3) congressional candidates to have a public debate, 'live' on the radio. Now, do we believe all the candidates will say yes? Probably not. These days, political races are determined by outside interests and money, money, money. Both Jim Leven and Bruce Mittman made a public invitation to attend a debate in the center of the 23rd district. More news later as they develop.

MP3 File

Monday, October 12, 2009

Well, he did, and when Dan the Dem called in, it was liberal radio in stereo. Good banter throughout, then legislature hopeful, Bobby Ferris, stopped in to talk about things in general. Oh, by the time this description was posted, the Yankees had already won, and wow, what a win! Tainted, however, that ball was fair. Yet, Yanks came back with Texiera's homerun. This is just 'unbearable', that is, why would the local DEC decide to shoot and kill a 300 pound black bear, when sedating the animal would have been justified. This local story happened this morning in Lowville, and created quite a stir on today's show.

We've been on the air, just not on the Blogger! Sorry 'bout that, seems our streaming is working so well, it's knocking out the computer used to record the show. This has been going on for over a week, so here's a show for your listening pleasure. Just some notes, Attorney Joe Stanley, Michael Jackson's funeral, and the fate of man on the street reporting.

Well, Glenn was out for (2) shows, but he was ready today for the Jackson story. Good stuff today, evaluating which pop icon's death was bigger than the other. Jackson, Elvis or Lennon, you decide. Noodle sat in while Glenn fielded many calls regaring MJ's untimely death.

6.23.9

Hey Ohhh! This was a lame attempt at imitating the late Ed McHahon, who passed away last night. Not much activity today, but still worth listening to. Why? Well when our So-Called Host talks, it's just kind of interesting to listen to.

Glenn was in a good mood today, and why not, good weather, business is good, yet, Glenn gets mad when he reads articles about unruly Golf fans at this weekend's US Open on Long Island. After reading a Newsday article, Glenn had his own ideas why New York area residents act the way they do. We lost a litener too this weekend. The 'Bathroom' guy passed away after a brief illness.

The Blog went down on me again yesterday, and that was a great show too with the Boxing club members and Tim from the DPAO. Today, Glenn went swimming for callers, then for the better part of the second half of today's show, Glenn had author Chuck Rubin on the show to discuss his book, 'Don't Let Your Children Ruin Your Life'. Good discussion about the 'pitfall's of drug addiction in an American family.

Technical difficulties yesterday, so no show was posted. However, today's show makes up for the void. Take a listen to this week's zanniest 'Legal Hour' to date with attorneys Eric Swartz and Gary Miles. Everything from the death penalty to oversized Watertown women. Have fun!

A somewhat lathargic host fielded calls throughout today's show, but it felt like something was missing, like a good show! Just kidding, actually, a good show about nothing at all today, a bit about Albany and something about the origins of French expressions with Danny Francis.

MP3 File

6.11.9

Whew! What crawled up our so-called host's butt today? Listen to a very outspoken Glenn Curry as he tears the political system apart this afternoon on 'Live'. Good calls, one after another, a rapid-fire show with real attitude!

6.10.9

It was another informative, funny, and yes sometimes controversial 'Lega Hour' today with Attorney Eric Swartz and Attorney Gary Miles. Plenty of stuff, from the number one way to get a DWI to local and national issues that matter to us all. Good show!

Despite a head cold, Glenn was at it again! More about the Albany coup, a potential 'millionaire' candidate, and the prospect of a governor businessman in NYS. All of this, plus Attorney Joe Stanley today.

MP3 File

Monday, June 8, 2009

6.8.9

Look what's happening in Albany! The balance of power has changed right before our eyes. This headline was something Glenn was unfamiliar with at first, but quickly became the thrust of today's show. Good description of this past weekend's 'Boys Weekend', plus Glenn believes Texas Horseshoes is the best backyard game ever!

To be a republican in northern NY, how does that work? Well, listen to today's rivoting show about the future of the party during this summer's special election. For the second time, Ogdensburg councilman Nick Vaugh, businessman Brian Peck, and Republican assistant, Julie Robins sat in with Glenn today to discuss the political present and future in our region.

Sorry about yesterday's show, it never posted correctly. Anyway, good show today about the upcoming special election for John McHugh's congressional seat. Glenn took one call after another about the race. Listen and judge for yourself, will it be a rich lawyer who doesn't even reside in our region, or a humble elected official?

MP3 File

Tuesday, June 2, 2009

6.2.9

Wow! Congressman John McHugh is moving on up to become the nations' newest Secretary of the Army. With this News, the question remains, who will run in a special congressional election? This and Oz's birthday song on today's very exciting show!

Where is everybody? That was the question during the first half of today's show. Then it was a question about tonight's new Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien. That got people calling, including Dan the Dem, who had his own insight to the late night wars. Good show, despite the gap in callers.

Nice Friday show, it included some notes about Mark Neveldine's fiance and Hollywood actress Allison Loman, who's premiering tonight in the movie 'Drag Me to Hell'. Then it was some background news about Kenny Nims' family history. Good chat with Samantha, and our pharmacy friend called in from Cleveland to say hi via the stream. He's there for the Yankee games this weekend! Oh, Glenn hated the way ABC treated this year's 'Spelling Bee' broadcast.

Jordan Damon, MMA competitor along with John Gibbons stopped by today to talk about the fastest-growing sport in America, Ultimate Fighting. The guys came in for the second half of today's show to talk about Jordan's training facility here in Watertown.

It's another 'Legal Hour' on the 'Live at Five' show. This time it was with Attorney Eric Swartz. Glenn covered as many of the local legal issues with Eric, but some couldn't be discussed because of Eric's involvement with the cases. Good discussions regarding the constitution, the supreme court nominee and the act of begin a lawyer.

With news of a fatal car accident that took the lives of 4 young people, including a pregnant woman, Glenn dedicated some time to this weekend's tragic event. Attorney Joe Stanley explained where the process goes now, and Glenn fielded several other callers who wanted to express their sympathies to the families involved. From there it was all Lacrosse, as our hometown heroes from Watertown High take home another championship trophy in front of a national audience.

8.21.9

Wow! What a show today! First, a conversation with Dan the Democrat about last night's 'Idol' finale, then it was a compelling conversation with commercial pilot Kevin Oliver, who shared his thoughts about the Buffalo crash. Then, it was a 25 minute discussion with recording star Benny Mardones, who is performing this Sunday in Alex Bay. Glenn immediately gave away tickets to lucky listeners! Find out from the singer himself, the inspiration behind the song 'Into the Night'.

5.19.9

Is it torture, or not? This was the burning question on today's show. After the topic came up during Glenn's discussion with Attorney Joe Stanley, the show went in another direction all together. Good stuff, mixed in with 'Noodles' and Vanessa at the end of today's show.

MP3 File

Monday, May 18, 2009

5.18.9

Back for a Monday show, however, please note, Glenn doesn't begin today's show. Instead, Jim Leven begins the show without an intro. Anyway, Glenn showed up after a few minutes are put on a good show. Today's show was highlighted with a discussion with Samantha who walked 4 miles to claim her prize at a local dealership. Also, Glenn went on again about how Lacrosse should be the city's number one hight school sport.

What a weekend, and what a town! Glenn reflected on his extended weekend he had in Washington DC with his wife, brother and sister-in-law. His first trip to the Capital included a picture opportunity at the back entrance to the White House. This was just one of many sight-seeing stories Glenn shared today. Jim Leven was Glenn's co-host.

MP3 File

5.7.9

What? Glenn at a loss for words? Well to some degree, not much happening these days, but that's ok, because like Glenn says, there's always something to talk about. Today, it was a discussion about the fate of Alex Bay. Plus some other chatter about Glenn's trip to Washington D.C. this weekend! The show will be back next Tuesday!

MP3 File

Wednesday, May 6, 2009

5.6.9

Well, despite the fact we didn't have our normal 'legal hour' with the guys, Glenn still managed to produce a good Wednesday show. Good stuff, from 'American Idol' chatter, to an 'on the street report' with 'Crazy Ray'. Oh, John McHugh called (not the Congressman), with some encouraging words about ProjectWoodhaven.com.

MP3 File

Tuesday, May 5, 2009

5.5.9

It's a Tuesday edition, which means Glenn had a conversation with Attorney Joe Stanley, and he also covered the 'pothole' show from yesterday. Good stuff today, especially when both Jim and Vanessa came in to discuss the power of a woman.

MP3 File

Monday, May 4, 2009

5.4.9

What's in a pothole? Plenty! As in plenty of nothing. Jim Leven lost a tire to Palmer St. and he wanted to use the Live at Five Show to make a point, 'when will the city stand up to potholes'? Well, this got some kind of response, listen to today's show as we all find out that Watertown doesn't have as many potholes as we thought.

Does Glenn feel loud mouth talk show hosts are just too angry? Yes! Good chatter with a man who thought the Mexicans are stealing farming jobs from Americans. Glenn didn't agree. Good stuff for a Friday, including a geography lesson regarding Central America.

After Glenn shared the segment of VP Biden on the Today Show, he then shifted gears to discuss the days of discipline. More particularly, the days of grade school incidents at Catholic Schools. From this however, several callers chimed in about their own experiences at Catholic and public schools. Good show about another era.

5.29.9

Don't miss today's very informative and somewhat controversial 'legal hour' with attornies Eric Swartz and Gary Miles. Gary defended himself from a letter to the editor which was read on the air from SG because Glenn couldn't find it online. Good conversation too about the 'OJ' trial and stalkers.

MP3 File

Tuesday, April 28, 2009

4.28.9

Good show today, first up a two for Tuesday with 'Crazy Ray', our weekly call from Attorney Joe Stanley, and an interesting conversation today with 'Dan the Dem'. Then, as an added bonus, Hollywood writer/director, and Watertown native Mark Neveldine chimed in with great international numbers for his latest movie 'Crank 2'!

MP3 File

Monday, April 27, 2009

4.27.9

Good Monday show today, Glenn had time to cover all the nonsense. Not much, but entertaining, especially when Glenn had a caller answer his own question. Victor had some radio thoughts, and Jim Leven is very cautious when it comes to flying in questionable weather.

MP3 File

Friday, April 24, 2009

4.24.9

For your Friday entertainment, listen in on today's very high-spirited show. Not much to write home about, just good chat with Samantha, East Main, Justin and a guy who went to High School with the Craigs List killer.

MP3 File

Thursday, April 23, 2009

4.23.9

Hey now! We're solo today, well kinda. Glenn had several people in at the outset, but by the second half, it was your 'typical' show. Crazy call at the end of the show when 'East Main' tried desperately to understand Glenn's description of a nearby village.

MP3 File

Wednesday, April 22, 2009

4.22.9

It's another 'Legal Hour' with our friends Attorneys Eric Swartz and Gary Miles. Today's show covered local, regional and international issues, including what to do with teenage pirates in our legal system. As usual, Glenn read today's police blotter and offered questions to his guests based on their professional input.

MP3 File

Tuesday, April 21, 2009

The tea bags are coming, the tea bags are coming! Not really, but Glenn had fun with words today on another version of the 'legal hour' with attorneys Eric Swartz and Gary Miles. Good show once again about the legal issues in Watertown and beyond. All this on the day America protested their government for over-taxation.

Glenn was not in a good mood today, but things got better as the show progressed. Yesterday's topics carried over to today's show. One topic was about the Indian River law suit that was the central topic today for the second half of the show. Listen and judge for yourself!

MP3 File

Wednesday, April 8, 2009

4.8.9

What can I tell you, the 'Legal Hour' gets more and more interesting with each passing week. Today, Glenn discussed several local cases in the headlines today, including the controversy at Indian River HS. Both Eric and Gary gave us their thoughts about discrimination. Very active show today, something you should have an open mind about.

4.6.9

What a difference a weekend makes. First, Glenn cleared the air on future battles on someone else's dime. After that, it was a very entertaining show, 'live' from Hollywood...it was an interview with Watertown's own Mark Neveldine. Mark spoke with Glenn regarding his sequel to 'Crank' titled, 'Crank, High Voltage'. Mark explained what the sequel is all about, plus added another surprise to the show by having the 'heavy' from the new movie call in. That's when Glenn spent the last 15 minutes talking to actor, Clifton Collins Jr. Clifton covered his busy year and those who influenced his career. A great show to start the week!

MP3 File

Thursday, April 2, 2009

4.2.9

Good show about old time hollywood actors including Broderick Crawford and Chuck Conners to name a few. Glenn can't understand the big 'to do' about Michelle Obama and the Queen. Good show, also note, yesterday's show has been posted too!

Will your computer work tomorrow? Based on what some experts say, maybe not. Plus, if not tomorrow, maybe some other time. This and other issues were shared today. Plus, Attorney Joe Stanley called, and for the first time, Vanessa (new AE to the station) sat down with Glenn this afternoon toward the end of the show.

MP3 File

It was a wonderful session with the Glenn man today as he mis-spoke about history (according to Danny Francis), established why SU sucked on Friday and why living in the military is actually better than in the private sector in Northern New York. Simple show for cold rainy Monday afternoon.

MP3 File

Friday, March 27, 2009

3.27.9

Well, without much pomp and circumstance, Glenn finalized one of the craziest weeks in the show's history today. Not much to add, other than an interesting conversation with Mike Burto, the head of the Kinney Drugs pharmacy department. Mike called to speak about the newest Kinney Drug store location on Washington St. Oh, some historical references made today about old theaters on Public Square.

MP3 File

Thursday, March 26, 2009

3.26.9

What can I say, this has been one crazy week! Once again, Glenn is being hassled by a certain person from St. Lawrence County. As a result, the show now has an unwanted distraction. With that being said, things did move on with the usual banter. Good stuff too about the Vasquez case and a 17 year old kid in trouble with the law.

MP3 File

Wednesday, March 25, 2009

3.25.9

Another great Legal Hour with attorneys Eric Swartz & Gary Miles. A myriad of topics today including a letter referring to a high profile case from the mid 80s detailing the imminent release of a man named Ross who will be living in Syracuse. This and more contemporary legal topics were discussed today including the Vasquez case, and the Reardon man up on very serious criminal charges. Plus, much more, including the newest criminal terms such as 'Sexting' and 'Upskirting' to name a few.
