What are Fridays for anyway? A day to let your hair down. Of course, there is still room for a local candidate too. After Vanessa and Glenn had their own casual conversation, the show went political when Jefferson County candidate for County Clerk, Gertrude Karris came in to discuss her current campaign. Good conversation for a Friday afternoon.

Any conversation with Gertrude is a good conversation. She rocks.
Gertrude is a good person I am sure, but she can't even say why she is a member of the Democratic Party. No doubt she is right that being a Democrat has become "cool", but when our state and country is spiraling downward being cool just doesn't cut it. The Republicans haven't done much of anything to help us out of our current situation either, but the truth is that voting for a Democrat to represent Northern New York will never benefit North Country residents. In this state the democratic machine is run for and exclusively by downstate interests. I am not one of those people who fear and dispise downstate, far from it. I understand though that downstate needs are different from ours right here NNY. Jefferson County Democrats have a solid record of always bending to downstate pressures and backing policies that heavily favor downstate. I am not endorsing any party but just want to remind everyone that they should remember where they live and ONLY elect leaders who will truly represent NNY interests.
